This in from from Chris Fevens, a writer for one of the NHL’s oldest and best hockey blogs, The Stanley Cup of Chowder blog out of Boston, his take that Oilers GM Ken Holland should be named GM of the Year, with Joe Sakic of Colorado as the runner up: “Getting rid of Lucic’s disgusting contract and bringing in a semi-productive James Neal, signing Darnell Nurse, and acquiring Mike Green, Andreas Athanasiou and Tyler Ennis give Holland the nod for GM of the year.”

Fevens also makes that most obvious of picks, Leon Draisaitl for NHL MVP: “What Draisaitl has done in Edmonton all year long is truly outstanding and he rightfully deserves the Hart Trophy for the 2019-2020 NHL season. 4th in goals (43) 1st in assists (67), 1st in PTS (110), 1st in PP points makes Draisaitl an easy shoe-in for the league’s MVP.”

My take

Fevens is a fan and hockey blogger so he doesn’t have a vote on this (which puts him in the same boat as me) but his take still cheered me up on this Day 112 of this bleak and never-ending March, so I thought I’d share it with you. It was certainly more fun than fashioning my own face mask out of an old t-shirt, which took up about an hour of my time earlier in the day.
